GenesisCare to anchor Noosaville Medical and Professional Centre

Australia’s leading provider of cancer care services GenesisCare is set to move into Noosaville Medical and Professional Centre, cementing the centre as one of the Sunshine Coast’s premier health and medical precincts.

The GenesisCare Noosaville location will deliver high-quality cancer services, advanced technology, precision medicine and clinical trials, meaning many patients will no longer have to travel to receive the care they need.

Dr Marie Burke OAM, GenesisCare Radiation Oncologist and Chief Medical Officer of Oncology Australia, said the new centre would care for more than 500 patients yearly and complement existing services.

“GenesisCare will integrate with existing radiology, pathology and pharmacy services in the Noosaville Medical and Professional Centre, and will work in partnership with the Noosa Hospital services across surgery, medical oncology and haematology.”

Built by Noosa property pioneers Norm and Gwen Oliver 15 years ago to meet the need for quality professional suites in the area, the Noosaville Medical and Professional Centre at 90 Goodchap Street is a hub for medical and allied health services.

Strategically located just 650 metres from Noosa Hospital within the Noosa medical precinct, the centre is home to a range of businesses, including Noosa Radiology, Sunshine Coast Ophthalmologists at Noosa, Lightbox Radiology, Sullivan Nicolaides pathology, Laguna Chiropractic, Breast Screen, Ramsey Health, Maven Dentist, Noosa Physio and Bluestone Psychology. It’s also home to Ray White Commercial.

GROWING A FLOURISHING HEALTH PRECINCT

The Ray White Commercial team, led by Paul Forrest and Paul Butler, has been involved in the complex since its inception, managing leasing on behalf of the Oliver Group and building a close relationship with Norm who sadly passed away in 2021.

Following the recent sale of the property to the Dexus Group by Ray White Commercial, the team worked with Dexus to secure GenesisCare as an anchor tenant.

Commercial property consultant David Brinkley said securing the right mix of tenants was key to creating a vibrant and flourishing centre that met the changing needs of the local community.

“The centre is undoubtedly the best of its kind in Noosa and surrounding areas, offering large accessible spaces, plenty of car parking and medical-size lifts. The facilities, combined with a solid existing tenant base and now GenesisCare as an anchor tenant only increases the appeal,” David said.

“Creating a successful health precinct doesn’t happen by accident. Over time we’ve been really careful to secure tenants that would build on the existing offerings and ultimately create something greater than the sum of its parts that’s unique in the region,” David said.

“This required considering the community’s current and future needs to select the right tenants with the greatest chance of success. Also, understanding requirements and access needs to ensure businesses with similar use cases are located close to each other.”

IMPROVING CANCER CARE FOR NOOSA PATIENTS

The opening of GenesisCare Noosaville in late 2023 will mark the next chapter in the organisation’s strong history of caring for cancer patients in the Sunshine Coast community.

GenesisCare has been providing high quality oncology services to Queenslanders for more than 30 years. The first GenesisCare centre opened in Nambour in 2001 and the Oncology and Radiation Therapy centre in Buderim in 2019. 

While Noosa patients can already access GenesisCare consultations locally, they currently need to travel to Nambour or Buderim for treatment. Once the new centre opens, patients will be able to receive both consultations and treatment closer to home in Noosaville.
